16 more cowboy romance reads while you wait for the next Lyla Sage book

We won't deny it, we're pretty big Lyla Sage fans here. Both me and Sophie are chomping at the bit (pun intended) to be able to read ‘Lost and Lassoed', the third book in the Rebel Blue Ranch series, and the follow up to Booktok popular ‘Done and Dusted' and ‘Swift and Saddled’.

You can check out Sophie's review here.

Are they the best cowboy romances out there? Maybe. Maybe not. That wholly depends on what gets your bronco bucking!

Saddle up, kids. Here's another 16 cowboy, smalltown romances to ride off into the sunset with. Yeehaw!

  1. ‘Rootbound' by Tarah Bewitt - I just loved the colour way on this cover. Bear with the summary for this one, because it's long, and a little confusing. But I have a good feeling about it and I've just bumped it further up my TBR.

  2. ‘Sovereign' by Raya Morris Edwards - Leaning more towards darker romance, apparently. I really like the vibe this one goes for. Sinister maybe, over “small town”. I'm intrigued.

  3. ‘Coralled' by Loralei James - This one is set within the rodeo circuit. More specifically bull riding. Again, a different slant I haven't read yet so this had to go on here. Also, promised two love interests!

  4. ‘Smoking Gun’ by Lainey Lawson - Do I love this cover, or hate it? I'm not sure. But it's fun. Brother's best friend, blurred lines, forbidden romance. All those good tropes.

  5. ‘Dust Storm’ by Maggie C. Gates - I love the summary for this one. Again, another book that has pushed its way towards the top of my TBR cos I am INTRIGUED.

  6. ‘Holding the Reins’ by Paisley Hope - I’m not enamoured with the name “CeCe”, but this does combine smalltown romance with a bit of billionaire romance tropes, I think. That's the impression I get. And I do love a billionaire romance when it's done right.

  7. ‘Long Hard Ride' by Lorelai James - Another feature for Lorelai on this list. I couldn't resist the title though. It's too good. It's also described thusly: “An insta-love, reverse harem (why choose), alpha males, close proximity romance.” So… Where do I sign up?

  8. ‘Strung Along' by Hannah Cowan - The artwork for this one is fabulous. I love that watercolour design style.

  9. ‘Knotted' by Pam Godwin - I simply cannot trust the word “knotted” or “knotting” anymore. It's ruined for me. Thank you spicy booktok. Well done. That said, I'm 99% convinced it doesn't mean that in this book. Thankfully.

  10. ‘Alive and Wells' by Bailey Hannah - This one does come with a very clear content warning for domestic violence, so that's something to just be aware of. That said, I quite like the cover and the overall vibe of this one.

  11. ‘Tame the Heart' by Ava Hunter - Sounds like we got ourselves a grumpy-sunshine! This feels like it could get heavy on the drama, but it also feels like a solid one.

  12. ‘Rein Me In’ by Kayla Grosse - It's that artwork style that I am a bit of a sucker for. So, on that alone I'm halfway there.

  13. ‘Indigo Ridge' by Devney Perry - I've read a sports romance from this author and quite enjoyed it! In fact, I've read two! From American footbal then, to smalltown cowboy romance. I have faith in this author to deliver.

  14. ‘Off to the Races’ by Elsie Silver - I hate the cover. But we can't always judge book by its cover, can we? (We can. But also we can't). I feel like this might be more loosely a “cowboy” romance but it pops up in recs when you’re on the info pages for Lyla Sage books, so, that's good enough for me.

  15. ‘Flawless' by Elsie Silver - I mean, this is the kind of cover update that 'Off to the Races' needs. This one feels obvious, but if you haven’t read it yet maybe give it a shot. It's very popular!

  16. ‘Swift and Saddled' by Lyla Sage - While we wait for ‘Lost and Lassoed', you gotta have read book two. If you loved ‘Done and Dusted' then you'll get just as much reading satisfaction out of ‘Swift and Saddled’. I promise!

So pick your poison! (I've officially run out of cowboy puns, alas)

Which ones are you adding to your TBR?
