10 more spicy booktok books to keep you warm this winter

Alright, alright, alright. (If you didn’t read that with your best Matthew McConaughey then we can’t be friends, I don’t make the rules, I just play by them). Last time we gave you 6 offerings from spicy booktok, but I’m sure you’ve finished those three times over by now, right?

So, how about a few more? Look, no one can judge you if you stare them down over the top of your Kindle. If you read these books in paperback then you are my hero and I salute you, friend. If you want to read smut and spice on a Sunday afternoon then you do just that. There are no guilty pleasures here, just books that give you butterflies and make you binge read until 3am.

I’ve dug around and found some of the current popular spicy booktok titles, as well as throwing in a few that I feel should be featured on the clock app.

spicy booktok books

1. ‘Promises and Pomegranates’ by Sav R. Miller - I’ve read this one quite recently (and will be reviewed soon too!) A mafia style storyline, but I thought it had an interesting twist on positions of power for each of the main characters. For me, it had quite an exaggerated plot, which, considering the genre, isn't surprising, but I enjoyed it. It’s got a HEA and the spice level is medium.

“Elena

To most, Kal Anderson is a villain.

Harbinger of death, keeper of souls, frequenter of nightmares.

Doctor Death. Hades incarnate.

They say he stole me.

Usurped my fiancé and filled the cracks in my heart with empty promises.

Imprinted his crimson fingerprints on my psyche and tried to set me free.

They’re not wrong, per se.

Except it was my choice to stay.

Kal

To most, Elena Ricci is an innocent.

Goddess of springtime, lover of poetry, angel of my nightmares.

Little one. Persephone personified.

They say I ruined her.

Shattered her virtue and devoured her soul like a succulent pomegranate.

Embedded my evil as deep as I could possibly get and tried to set her free.

They’re not wrong, per se.

Except it was she who ruined me.”

2. ‘Neon Gods’ by Katee Robert - It’s featured on the other list, but oI had to mention it being another Hades and Persophone retelling. It’s definitely en vogue. This is one of my more recent physical purchases. I’m very interested to see if it lives up to the hype. The cover is cool, though.

“He was supposed to be a myth. But from the moment I crossed the River Styx and fell under his dark spell... he was, quite simply, mine.

Society darling Persephone Dimitriou plans to flee the ultra-modern city of Olympus and start over far from the backstabbing politics of the Thirteen Houses. But all that’s ripped away when her mother ambushes her with an engagement to Zeus, the dangerous power behind their glittering city’s dark facade.

With no options left, Persephone flees to the forbidden undercity and makes a devil’s bargain with a man she once believed a myth... a man who awakens her to a world she never knew existed.

Hades has spent his life in the shadows, and he has no intention of stepping into the light. But when he finds that Persephone can offer a little slice of the revenge he’s spent years craving, it’s all the excuse he needs to help her—for a price. Yet every breathless night spent tangled together has given Hades a taste for Persephone, and he’ll go to war with Olympus itself to keep her close…”

3. ‘Hooked’ by Emily McIntire - Captain Hook inspired smut. I snapped this up faster than the crocodile who chomped his hand.

“He wants revenge, but he wants her more.

Once Upon A Time, there was a little boy.

His belly full of laughter, his life full of joy.

Until one day, something changed; stripped his innocence away.

The hole inside making space for the devil to come and play.

His dreams gone forever, he grew up way too fast.

An endless night of crocodiles, and watches made of glass.

He grew into a villain, the taste of vengeance on his tongue.

Craving to make his enemies pay for the misdeeds they had done.

Instead he found a darling girl, and refused to let her go.

For what better way to make the man pay, than to steal his little shadow.”

4. ‘Haunting Adeline’ by H. D. Carlton - BE CAREFUL WITH THIS ONE. It was previously banned on Amazon because of the trigger warning (if I’m understanding it correctly it’s because of the details within the trigger warning as it now has a blanket warning instead). So I urge anyone interested in this one to look up the details beforehand.

“The Manipulator

I can manipulate the emotions of anyone who lets me.

I will make you hurt, make you cry, make you laugh and sigh.

But my words don't affect him. Especially not when I plead for him to leave.

He's always there, watching and waiting.

And I can never look away.

Not when I want him to come closer.

The Shadow

I didn't mean to fall in love.

But now that I have, I can't stay away.

I'm mesmerized by her smile, by her eyes, and the way she moves.

The way she undresses...

I'll keep watching and waiting. Until I can make her mine.

And once she is, I'll never let her go.

Not even when she begs me to.”

5. ‘Den of Vipers’ by K. A. Knight - This one I have read, and I had very mixed feelings about it overall. It’s not one that is overly worried about consent, and there’s some pretty hardcore spice scenes. It’s over 600 pages and I devoured it so fast! It’s very readable and I ended up connecting with the characters (which I’m not sure I’m happy about, haha!) It’s an experience.

“Ryder, Garrett, Kenzo, and Diesel—The Vipers.

They run this town and everyone in it. Their deals are as sordid as their business, and their reputation is enough to bring a grown man to his knees, forcing him to beg for mercy. They are not people you mess with, yet my dad did. The old man ran up a debt with them and then sold me to cover his losses.

Yes, sold me.

They own me now.

I’m theirs in every sense of the word. But I’ve never been meek and compliant. These men, they look at me with longing. Their scarred, blood-stained hands holding me tight. They want everything I am, everything I have to give, and won’t stop until they get just that. They can own my body, but they will never have my heart.

The Vipers? I’m going to make them regret the day they took me.

This girl? She bites too.”

6. ‘Scream for Us’ by Molly Doyle - A pain and BDSM kink reverse harem. I like the pumpkin on the cover…

“After wandering into an alluring Halloween party that is said to go down in history, Quinn finds herself captivated by three masked men. As she immerses herself in a night of both pleasure and pain, she finally has the perfect opportunity to bring her darkest fantasies to life.

Or death.”

7. ‘Black Sunshine’ by Karina Halle - I’ve already seen this being called Twilight for grown-ups (and not in the way that 50 Shades tried to be) so it has to be worth a shot, right? Smutty PNR deserves a spot on the list. Hold tight, the blurb is LONG:

“All Lenore Warwick wants for her 21st birthday is to hang out with her friends, finish her second year at Berkeley with flying colors, and maybe catch the eye of a hot musician playing a show at a club that she can now (legally) get into.

Unfortunately, fate has other plans for her.

A week before her birthday, she’s kidnapped by the brooding and dangerous stranger with cold eyes and a lethal touch, who has been stalking her on San Francisco’s fog-shrouded streets. Absolon "Solon" Stavig isn’t your average criminal though. He’s a centuries-old vampire who’s caught between wanting to kill Lenore and wanting to save her.

You see Lenore, too, is a vampire.

She just doesn’t know it yet.

Taken by a pair of vampire slayers when she was just an infant, Lenore was raised never knowing her true nature. All Lenore knows is that she has (normal) parents who love her, that she’s exceptionally smart, and she’s squeamish around blood. But once she turns twenty-one, she’ll fully turn into a vampire, and Solon hopes he’ll be there to guide her, opening her eyes to her deepest hunger...both sexual and otherwise.

But this turning can’t be kept a secret. Soon both slayers and vampires are hunting Lenore, with only Solon and his unpredictable motley crew of vampires to save her.

If they don’t kill her first.”

8. ‘Dark Queen’ by Ker Dukey - I’m a sucker for a spicy mafia romance.

“He was my boss.

Rich, ambitious, dominating.

I was a waitress, struggling to pay the fees for ballet school.

Poor, talented, desperate.

He needed to marry to appease his dying father, to inherit the family empire.

It wasn’t supposed to be real, or forever.

Until he changed the rules.

What Mafia king Luca Leto wants, he gets, and he’s crowned his queen.

Me.

I’m under his rule now.

And his reign is cruel and toxic.

They call him the dark king and to gain my freedom I’m going to have to become a dark queen.”

9. ‘Birthday Girl’ by Penelope Douglas - Ahh, this one was *chefs kiss* tasty. I stormed through it in a couple sittings.

“JORDAN

He took me in when I had nowhere else to go. He doesn’t use me, hurt me, or forget about me. He listens to me, protects me, and sees me. I can feel his eyes on me over the breakfast table, and my heart pumps so hard when I hear him pull in the driveway after work.

I have to stop this. It can’t happen.

My sister once told me there are no good men, and if you find one, he’s probably unavailable. Only Pike Lawson isn’t the unavailable one.

I am.

PIKE

I took her in, because I thought I was helping. As the days go by, though, it’s becoming anything but easy. I have to stop my mind from drifting to her and stop holding my breath every time I bump into her in the house. I can’t touch her, and I shouldn’t want to.

But we’re not free to give into this. She’s nineteen, and I’m thirty-eight.

And her boyfriend’s father.

Unfortunately, they both just moved into my house”

10. ‘Deviant King’ by Rina Kent - I LOVED this series. My ratings declined as I moved through the original trilogy but it was a fun ride. It’s got YA aged characters but do not be fooled. This is spicy spice. You know? School bully trope.

“The villain isn't supposed to be king

I have a simple plan.

Finish Royal Elite School and get into my dream university.

One glance from the school’s king blows my plan up in smoke.

One glance and he suffocates my air.

One glance and he issues his death sentence.

His first words spiral my life into irreparable chaos.

“I will destroy you.”

Everything about Aiden King is black.

Black mind.

Black heart.

Black soul.

I should’ve remained quiet and endured the time I have left.

I didn’t.

I made the irrevocable mistake of provoking the king on his throne.

The devil in his hell.

And now, I’ll pay the price.

Being hated by Aiden King is dangerous.

But being wanted by him is lethal.”

Which of these caught your eye?
