Is Kindle Unlimited worth it? April 2024

Kindle Unlimited is very much like the wild west of book shops. It's like, you've got thousands of reads at your fingertips, but a large majority of them are questionable at best, and then there's the question of how do you actually find something you might like?

I started this series last month (wasn't sure it was going to be a series, but here we are!) where I'm attempting to figure out if Kindle Unlimited is actually worth the £9.49 price tag.

If nothing else it is making me read more, which considering the state of my Goodreads challenge from last year, isn't a bad thing. But it does also mean I have to sift through a lot of dirt to find a nugget of gold.

Last month I techincally saved £17.11 and read a total of 6 books on KU, including ‘My Dark Desire' which I reviewed.

Here's everything I read on KU in April, and how much that would have cost me to buy on Kindle (correct as of time of reading):

  • ‘Coach’ by Deveny Perry - £5.99

  • ‘Blitz' by Devney Perry - £4.99

  • ‘The Chase' by Elle Kennedy - £5.49

  • ‘Court of Nightmares' by K.A. Knight - £5.99

Total - £22.46

Saved - £12.97

Saved over 2 months - £30.68

Still going strong. Only managed 4 books on KU in April, however if I can say nothing else for K.A. Knight it's that they know how to right absolute chunkers. ‘Court of Nightmares' was over 500 pages, which for me is a bit of a task.

I'm eager to see how I can keep this rolling through next month. Wish me luck!
